Michel Russel - Les trois hommes - L'album débute avec l'énergie brute de la pièce Les soirs de samedi, un folk rock accrocheur qui donnera le ton à un album qui se situe dans un univers commun avec les Zachary Richard, Neil Young et plusieurs autres folk singers qui ont marqué le genre.

Parmi les pièces que je retiens dès les premières écoutes, je note Les aseptisés qui se veut une critique éclairée de notre société qui se laisse guider avec de belles ornières et la magnifique chanson Les trois hommes, chargée d'émotion et d'espoir malgré les difficultés pour trois garçons de faire leur chemin sans l'appui de leur père.

Pour cet album, Michel est appuyé de son band, Sylvain Savard (basse, guitare, voix), Jean-François Côté (réalisation, batterie, percussions, voix), Marc Bergeron (guitare, accordéon, voix, violoncelle), Benoit Bolduc (guitares, voix, programmation) et Patrick Paquet (batterie), ainsi que de quelques musiciens invités. Ensemble, ils ont produit un album doté d'une belle dynamique musicale et d'une forte intensité, appuyant parfaitement les textes à la fois directs et poétiques de l'auteur.

Je ne connaissais rien de cet excellent auteur compositeur avant de recevoir cet album qui est déja son quatrième, il aura désormais sa place parmi les bons albums produits cette année.

We live stream and provide access to our archive of the entire previous 12 months of broadcasting. We have made this request of you through Radiodirectx, a system that we strongly support as it is a way of tapping into a world of music not readily available in Australia. It also provides our listeners with a very wide range of music that saves them from listening to commercial radio playing the same music over and over. Our announcers have complete control over their shows and choose what, how much and when they play music we allocate them. All music that comes to the station is listened to in my office by me and then allocated to the show most suitable to provide the very best air-time. Throughout with no grasp of French at all l found myself conjouringh up lyrics in English to your songs. This was not mean't as a slur but rather your songs were creating wonderful images to me that l interpreted . This cd is very very strong as is your band, strong controlled and talented. You are are a great singer and l would imagine wrote the songs. All in all l have absolutely no critisims of this cd at all rather l want to say l found it to be a must listen to cd. Very powerful! Bonjour Marc, J'ai reçu il y a quelques jours le matériel concernant Michel Russell. Je suis franchement touché par son album, textes, mélodies, voix, musiques, etc... J'aime vraiment beaucoup. Dans votre premier message, vous parliez d'un événement avec Salvatore Adamo en 1999. Depuis bientôt quarante ans je suis très sensible à ce que fait cet artiste que je trouve par ailleurs exemplaire à beaucoup de points de vue. Je suis encore allé voir son spectacle à Paris l'année dernière et c'est toujours un énorme plaisir... Je ne suis donc pas vraiment surpris d'accueillir l'album de Michel de cette façon. Peut-être avons nous un coin de sensibilité en commun.... Dans tous les cas, j'aimerais beaucoup assister au spectacle de Michel que ce soit en France ou au Québec. Cordiales salutations, Yannick
